APROQUEN – Guacalito de la Isla Park Is Officially Inaguarated
On February 19th 2011, Guacalito de la Isla was proud to be a part of the official inauguration of the Aproquen-Guacalito de la Isla Baseball Park, located in the nearby Coyol Community.
Mrs. Vivian Pellas, Founder and Executive Director of APROQUEN hosted the inauguration attended by colleagues, friends and family and members of the local community. Mrs. Pellas founded APROQUEN after suffering severe burns from a 1989 airplane crash in Honduras. As one of only nine survivors of the crash, Mrs. Pellas has dedicated her life to pediatric burn victims. From this realization, APROQUEN was founded in 1991 as a non-profit organization to provide medical services free of charge to this world’s burn children. For more information on APROQUEN and donating to the mission, please visit www.aproquen.org, or contact Matthew C. Pietras, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Roberto Clemente Jr., professional baseball player, sports broadcaster and son of the legendary Roberto Clemente, pitched the first ball during the inaugural game, which was played by the Coyol and Tumal teams. Both teams received baseball accessories provided by Guacalito de la Isla.
